This play is adapted from a traditional African folk tale. The text begins with suggestions about staging, costumes, and forming a cast. Because there are many animal characters, the play can successfully be staged by both small and large classes. The play reflects a typical second grade drama experience where small groups of children recite lines for the different characters. It will be about a half hour long, depending on the amount of music and movement that is incorporated into the drama.
